From Scientific Investigation to Interpretation Output a new approach to 3D documentation

A ‘micro documentary’ created from the outcomes of a conservation and scientific site investigation on a 14th C medieval Nottingham alabaster sculpture. The film will present the existing research and history and then explore the outcomes of the onsite research described in the abstract. The 3D model, macro photography and scientific imaging will be combined to explain the new research and its outcomes. At the current stage of the research some indications of the nature of the sculpture’s damage in antiquity, the potential source of the alabaster and its original polychromy are coming to light. The resulting film will be insightful in illustrating and developing this object biography.
